Video games – Games of the decade
It’s stunning to think where games have gone in the last decade; more so where you think they’ll go in the future. This list is a bit of a dog’s breakfast, with some wonderful stand-alone games, but more games that were trailblazers and games that changed how we play.

The Benefits Of Having PC Blue Ray Player

There are a few different options that are made available in the world today now by the average blue ray player. For one thing you can actually get a blue ray player rating and PC blue ray player playback right on your home computer. This is great because this means that you are able to watch all the video that you want in blue ray format so you are getting top notch quality here, but without having to use a blue ray player.

You are going to need to get an internal blue ray player for your PC and a PC blue ray player is typically just as costly as a regular blue ray player, if not less so. They are very easy to install and while there are really only a few steps involved in installing your own PC blue ray player, if you do not feel comfortable taking on this task yourself, there is always the option of you hiring a professional to do the job and install it for you.

Review HDTV: LG Infinia LX9500 3D TV

September 02, 2010 By: admin Category: LCD TV

Review HDTV: LG Infinia LX9500 3D TV

Hot on the heels of the spectacular world of Sony’s Cup entry in 3D-TV, the other manufacturers also launched their models. LG, Panasonic and Samsung models all have to compete with 3-sets of Sony.
As the name suggests, this is the complete LED-backlit LCD screen is capable of displaying 3D images. Or rather: it can display images that are converted to 3D using the included glasses. Two pairs with one set and some additional costs about R1 000.
This model, the LX9500 is also super thin. LG claims a thickness of 22mm, making it a lower profile than the average laptop. In practice, this design makes it a lot easier to mount on a wall, not to mention attractive. Besides being super-thin, it also has a barely noticeable 16mm ring – the little black bike frame. Frameless closer than we ever were.
Does it work?
If a conventional display, the LX9500 excels. Full-LED backlight means there is a grid of LEDs behind the main LCD screen. These can be individually controlled, so an on-screen image with a lot of black, these LEDs would dim, while the bright areas would have their respective LEDs illuminated. This means providing the LX9500 with a great contrast, though I would not bet my salary on the compliance of the claimed 10 million to 1 contrast ratio. Overall picture quality, even with the default settings, is much better than anything I’ve seen.
Connectivity is also good. There are four HDMI ports, more than enough for all HD-capable devices you may want to connect, and some analog inputs are also present. A strange addition is an Ethernet port. Hook this baby up to an internet connection and it will be a few extras to unlock, with LG’s Netcast online service bouquet. This offers YouTube, Picasa Weather Channel and online services in HD. It’s pretty cool lounge on the couch and just browsing YouTube for a hour or so, but the Weather Channel and Picasa applications do not get me so excited. A great feature to look ahead, is Skype integration. LG SA is working on the completion of the service, but when made available, customers on an LG-specific Webcam to buy their HDTV into a Skype video conferencing machine. No firm details are available, but I’m told to keep fingers crossed for this to come before the end of the year.
